Impossible expectations OR Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches On the promotion of.
An impossibly high common has been set for me by society, which is this: To have my swimsuit clad body grow to be the central image in a ten story high poster, hung in the theater district of Manhattan. For this is specifically what the titular “Bridget” of the Travel Channel’s “Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches” has done.
I am not a huge fan of the word “impossible.” When I taught in Ukraine I often scolded my students for overuse of the word. In fact while I was operating at a day camp in Crimea, jr high girls utilized to tease me by saying “It’s impossible” at each turn. So when I say that it is impossible for me to be the central image in a 10 story higher poster, hung in the theater district of Manhattan, you will take me at my word.
I’m not confident how I’ll be capable to reside down such a failure.
There are several things about this poster that fascinate me. The 1st is this: Who the fuck is Bridget? I have definitely no idea. Did she become massive while I was overseas? She’s supposed to be so famous that we don’t even need to be told her final name? How does she warrant such glorification? To be placed on a pedestal so high? She is undoubtedly very good searching (even though the image has clearly been photo shopped, no one is going to look flawless at that size with out photo shop) but she doesn’t appear interesting in any distinct way. She could most likely be replaced with an additional perky blond and handful of people would notice.
The subsequent point is the way the photo has been cropped. She’s reduce off at the thigh rather than possessing a full body shot. “No, no, zoom in a bit. If we use a complete physique shot her boobs will only be one story tall, and I want them to be a very good two stories.”
I also wonder how Bridget feels about this poster. She could be quite proud of it, but I rather hope that she’s not. I like to envision Bridget wasn’t told the poster was going to be produced at all. 1 day a friend of hers says “Let’s go to Times Square” and Bridget groaned at the prospect of going to such a touristy location considering that her complete life is going to tourist spots, but at least it is not yet another goddamn beach. After there her buddy lead her about the corner and Bridget’s face turned red upon seeing the giant reproduction of her barely covered image. She then ran residence and locked herself in the bathroom.
But the most significant point for me is how no one particular seems to care. People stroll by it like it’s the most typical point in the planet. Positive tourists who are taking images of every thing about them will click one off at her even though they’re at it but it is only of passing interest. Perhaps I’m just a poor backwards Midwesterner.
And there is this final question: Has the poster helped in promoting the show “Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches”? I sincerely hope that it has not.

We got bored once again and so we constructed one more Hot Wheels track, this time in the snow! It was beginning to melt but we filmed the track just in time. After taking an icy plunge, the vehicle shoots into a loop and a snow-covered helix ahead of launching up into the alpine heights. Featuring bonus scenes of launch failures and train destruction.
